Plato came from the field and was broken in.Plato came to Philippa to be broken in. He came straight out of a field and had not yet been handled. It is always a problem when young stock are not handled prior to breaking in as it makes them difficult to handle ... this is especially true for stallions. For an unhandled youngster, Plato was remarkably easy to break in ... but that was probably partly due to the fact that Philippa was very good with horses. In fact she only seemed to get the crazy horses to break in. When he was four his owner decided that she needed to sell him and we offered to buy him. Philippa put in a lot of work and started getting him ready for his first horse show. Later on Plato showed potential in Dressage and Jumping. We took him round a cross-country course with Willow only after his second time jumping. After a rough start he jumped all the big fences around the course. Plato was a horse with real potential. |
